Research Projects
- Incorporating business process change in information system design
- This project is being supervised by Dr. Awais Majeed. With the ever changing business environment, organizational processes also change. These changes need to be depicted in the associated Information Systems deployed by that organization. Current work will focus on the development of an approach that can help in the propagation of the changes in the process model to the software design. Our approach focuses on an integrated framework to model business processes in a suitable modeling language and presentation of business rules governing a particular business process. The framework will also focus on development of a methodology that will help to transform this business model to a software design. The methodology will also suggest techniques that can be used to transform the changes made to process model to business rules model and propagating these changes to the software design.
- Agents and Web Services based Auctioning Environment
- This project is being supervised by Dr. Awais Majeed. Today e-auctioning is one of the most widely used e-business phenomenon. Various agent-based environments and techniques have been developed to facilitate, monitor and manage the auctioning environment. However, with a wide variety of auctioning methods available, researchers and practitioners have to build customized solutions for each of the auctioning methods. Vision of the current work is to take all these parameters into account and then decide on a software architecture that would allow for the development of different auctioning scenarios at developer demand. Agents in this project should be considered as the set of actors that would participate in one (or many) simultaneous auctions on a specific good. On the other hand, Web services can be considered as the core architecture for building such generic (distributed most of the times) systems. Our main contribution is the development of a generic architecture for building different auctioning environments.
- A New Requirement Prioritization Model for Market Driven Products
- Supervised by Asst. Prof. Athar Mohsin, this project aims at providing a new model for prioritization of requirements in marked driven products.
