Eligibility Criteria

FSc (Pre-Engineering) or an equivalent qualification {Overseas High School Certificate/ British General Certificate of Education (Advanced level)/ International Baccalaureate} with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition FSc / equivalent with a combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Studies for admission in Computer Software Engineering. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks each in Matric and in FSc (excluding NCC marks)/ equivalent exams. No deviation in this regard is allowed

Selection of Candidates:

A mix blend of students, comprising of officers from Armed forces, technical, paying and NUST cadets undergo the degree programs. The following selection criteria is enforced for the intake of students:-

Officers from Armed Forces: Service Headquarters select officers for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The selection of officers is made purely on merit.

Technical Cadets: The technical cadets are selected by Person Administration Directorate; Adjutant General Branch at General Headquarters, as per the policy laid down and through a competitive test organized by NUST, selected candidates are required to undergo the ISSB and Medical fitness test.

NUST Cadets Paying cadets and NUST cadets: comprising both male and female students are selected through a computerized, entrance test. The test are conducted once a year and the dates for the test is advertised in the national press.

Eligibility Criteria

BSc Engineering/ BE in any discipline OR BCS (4 years)/ BIT (4 years)/ MSc (Statistics/ Physics/ Applied Physics/ Mathematics/ Electronics) with BSc Computer Science.

MS Leading to Ph.D Split Program

Students are selected for Split Ph.D basing on the performance in the course work. MCS sends outstanding students for completing their Ph.D Degree from the leading and renowned universities of the world including MSU (USA), ISU (USA) and UNSW (Australia). The recommended students are also given a handsome amount of scholarship under the Higher Education commission and NUST. The students can join CS department under this scheme in the pursuit of their academic objectives

Ph.D Program

Suitable candidates of high academic profile may apply for the PhD program at any time during the year along-with their research proposals and supporting academic documents for scrutiny and evaluation by concerned faculty at the college. The PhD program is of minimum 3 years duration after MS. If selected for Ph.D, students will be provided teaching assistantship or research assistantship for sponsored projects during the course of their Ph.D study. These students may be given stipend of Rs 5000/- to Rs 18000/- per month under National University of Science/Higher Education Commission scholarship scheme. In order to promote engineering education in the modern fields of engineering and IT, the Government of Pakistan has launched various Ph.D schemes. These are PhD abroad, Split Ph.D abroad and indigenous Ph.D programs
