IEEE Communications Society Chapter at MCS is the 3rd IEEE Communications Society Chapter in Pakistan after Lahore Chapter at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Karachi Chapter at Mehran University. MCS believes that Islamabad Chapter will greatly benefit the whole community of communication engineers residing in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and surroundings. Islamabad Chapter will provide an opportunity to the students to meet and learn from fellow students, as well as faculty members and professionals related to communication technologies. Islamabad Chapter will arrange seminars on latest communication trends at MCS which will enable the students to enhance their knowledge outside the classroom and joint seminars will allow students to meet and talk with other interested students. Islamabad Chapter will arrange student professional awareness conferences which will help to increase awareness of professional issues. The student professional awareness venture program will give teams of IEEE student members the opportunity to develop project proposals to increase professional awareness and receive funding to implement the project. IEEE Communications Society will also sponsor regional student paper contests and faculty counselor recognition award programs to promote outstanding students and faculty. Conferences, seminars and workshops arranged in the Islamabad region will be able to get financial and technical sponsorship through this Chapter. The proceedings of the events will be available at IEEE Xplore and IEEE Communications Society Digital Library.
