Islamabad: FAST National
University and Microsoft Pakistan have signed a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) to create an 'Industry Academia Partnership'
for development of world class IT human resources.
According to a press release, the
MoU was signed by Kamal Ahmed, Country General Manager Microsoft
Pakistan, and Dr M Ayub Alvi, Dean FAST-NU, at the university
head office.
Through this partnership, all
campuses of the FAST-NU will have free access to Microsoft
products for academic use. Furthermore, the MoU will lead to
training of teachers, industrial projects, professional training
in advanced technologies, internships and free courseware for
FAST-NU students.
The Microsoft will offer FAST-NU
participation in the MSDN Academic Alliance.
Dr Amir Muhammed, Rector NU, Rana
Ghulam Shabbir, Secretary General FAST and Dr. Aftab Ahmad
Maroof Director, NU Islamabad Campus, were also present on the
occasion.
