Student Chapter of Computer Society of Pakistan (CSP) at MCS
Launching of Student Chapter of Computer Society of Pakistan (CSP) in Department of CSE was carried out in simple but auspicious and graceful ceremony on 4th Jan 2012,at NS Auditorium in Military College of Signals (NUST) from 0930 to 1100 hours. It was organized by the Software Society of Department of CSE, MCS.
Purpose
The purpose of launching MCS Chapter CSP is to provide the students of the Department of CSE in particular and to all students of MCS in general, an opportunity to participate in the national and international activities related to the software technology. Moreover, representatives of CSP will be visiting MCS and will suggest necessary improvements by interacting with students and Faculty Members.

Chief Guest
Mr. Tahir Chaudhry, President of CSP was invited as the chief guest of the ceremony. Mr. Chaudhry has been working with CSP since its inception in 1973 ans is an active professional with years of experience in entrepreneurship, IT, Software houses, and venture capital. He is also the president of Pakistan Insitute of Enterpreneurs and currently runs a large software house by the name of Falcon Technologies in Islamabad.

Sequence of Events
The launching ceremony was unfolded in the following sequence
- Recitation of Holly Quran by GC Hafiz Asif Khalil of TCC-20
- Opening speech and introductions by the President Software Society
- Welcome speech by Dean, Brig Dr. Ashraf Masood (Retd). The Dean talked at length about the merits of CSP and its membership. He encouraged all students to take active part in the activities of CSP and to raise the standard of activities in the college.
- Speech by the Chief guest, Mr. Tahir Chaudhry. Mr. Tahir Chaudhry started his valueable talks to the house with the information about CSP and its presence in industry in the country. He talked about entrepreneurship, job hunting, and student counseling services provided by CSP to the aspiring students. He mentioned about the influence of CSP on all major companies in Pakistan, including Mercedez-Benz and Siemens. He congratulated students on becoming new members of CSP and informed them about benefits of membership (1000Hrs-1030Hrs)

- Survey of office space and orientation by HOD, Col. Dr. Fahim Arif to Chief Guest.
- During the light refreshment session in Engineering Wing conference room with the faculty members and students, the chief guest Mr. Tahir Chaudhry had a light session with of discussion on the personality building and improving their soft skill for making their chances brighter of getting jobs in the leading telecommunication firms in the country. He threw light on the avaiable venture capital channels in Pakistan and encouraged the students to work towards a more business oriented IT industry. He lauded the efforts of MCS and Pakistan Army on playing their role in imparting higher quality education and nation building of the country.
- The chief guest departed at 1100 hrs to finish a two hours eventful ceremony.

Registration
A total of 55 new students registered themselves as a student members of CSP and their registration forms dully filled were handed over to Chief Guest.
